City Lights | Brisbane, Australia

January 12, 2015

Brisbane is the home to just over 2 million people… that’s 2 million lucky people if you ask me! Why?

This beautiful city has been built around the Brisbane river which snakes its way from Wivenhoe Dam and empties into Moreton Bay. The river has gorgeous waterfront tracks that many city slickers use for running during the week (or a leisurely scenic stroll), and offers a ferry service called the CityCat which is a great way to see a different side to the city.

I don’t know why, but I am a sucker for big metal structures, and the pride of Brisbane river is the Story Bridge. The cantilever bridge gets lit up at night like a Christmas tree and the colour is changed for different occasions.

Now one of my favourite things to do is night photography and by night, this city glows! The river is gorgeously illuminated by the building lights like a rainbow. So one night I strapped on some walking shoes and walked the 6 kilometre loop track to take photos of this beautiful city by night.

Here are few of my personal favourites…

Pretty huh!?! Not a bad place to call home!
